The two civilizations thrived in their ancient environments which eventually led to a large amount of wealth within these two cultures. It is because of this that these ancient cultures were able to make a variety of advancements in literature, architecture, art and many other fields. The Greeks produced some of the world’s strongest architectural monuments, many of which are still standing today. These include the Temple of Zeus, and the Temple of Poseidon. Probably one of the largest contributions of the ancient Greeks to western civilization in regard to architecture was their development of the three fundamental architectural systems of design, the Doric, Iconic, and Corinthian orders.
